School Counseling Mission

The mission of the school counseling program is to provide a safe, positive and challenging learning environment with equitable access to resources for all students.

Services are delivered in:

  • Classroom Lessons
  • Small Groups offered to students who may benefit from making and developing positive relationships with self and others.
  • Individual: meetings to address student's specific social emotional and academic needs.

Cromwell provides classroom lessons, which are offered at no cost to schools. They have become an integral part of many Maine schools’ anti-bullying, inclusion, and community-building efforts.

Lessons

Guidance lessons are designed to facilitate student development in three areas: academic, career and personal/ social. Topics include coping strategies; peer relationships; decision-making; conflict resolution; study skills; career awareness and the world of work; and multicultural awareness.
